The StageWorks was formed in 2004 to produce high quality professional productions of the best of contemporary and classical writing.

The company's first production was Two by Jim Cartwright. Having won many awards for his work, including best new play award for Two, Jim Cartwright fits perfectly into the category of the best of contemporary writers. !!

The company continued its success with a tour of Twelfth Night to great acclaim, acheiving 4 Stars out of 5 and 'Pick of the Week' in the Western Mail throughout its tour. In 2006, the company built on its success of the previous year with two touring productions, The Tempest, starring National Theatre member Tom Armstrong, and The Just So Stories by Rudyard Kipling.

Our latest production was a tour of Up n Under by John Godber, featuring Marshall Lancaster (DC Chris Skelton in Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, and Slug in Coronation Street)

This Autumn the company will be bringing back Two at selected theatres in the midlands and north west.
